Tony Ward’s “The Figure” sells for $18K

CACHAN, FRANCE – A London-based collector has purchased Tony Ward’s 1995 tableaux vivant entitled “The Figure” for 15,000 euros ($18,000). The purchase, made during Ward’s participation in a group show entitled Sexe et Convenance, in the Parisud Gallery in Cachan, France, sets a new benchmark for a large scale Ward work. The print was the first in an edition of five of “The Figure” at the size of 48″ X 72″. The second print in the edition is now being offered at 19,000 euros ($22,000). For those of you not familiar with Ryan McGinley, he gripped the juice of having been the youngest person (26) to have a solo exhibit at the famous Whitney Museum.
